If you're worried that class might be too hard or you're a complete beginner and aren't sure if you'll catch on fast enough....
This is a common feeling when you're first getting started learning how to dance with in-person classes .
I'm going to help explain why its not your fault.
First, you need to understand that there are actually 3 phases to Beginner Level and they are:
Phase 1: Complete Beginner
Never danced before, or has taken between 1-10 classes.
Phase 2: Beginner
Has a basic understanding of the moves but still finds that they forget moves / unable to follow moves after class, or leading and following is still a confusing concept but they're getting familiar with counting, the basic moves and they can do an entire hour of a beginner class without feeling overwhelmed.
Phase 3: Improving Beginner
This level is right on the border of being an intermediate level dancer but still needs to work on refining their lead and follow techniques. They are solid in their fundamentals and are just working on learning as many details and new moves as possible to get them ready to transition to intermediate level.
Ok great! Now hopefully you understand that in every single beginner in-person class there is a wide range of skill level!
Our in-person classes are NOT geared for the complete beginner, the level they are intended for is phase #2 Beginner level and sometimes a move or two will be a little more phase #3 Improving beginner.
So if you've taken under 10 classes with us, then you might still find yourself feeling a bit overwhelmed at in-person group classes. (thats totally normal) and the more classes you attended the more confidence you'll gain.
WHY?!
Well because 90% of our students are not complete beginners so therefore we do not teach stuff for the 10% of new students.
We would quickly bore the majority of our students focusing on stuff thats too basic for them.
But.... we understand how frustrating that can feel as a complete beginner... you might be left feeling like "Well how the heck do I learn without feeling like it's too hard?"
We don't want to leave you hanging so... we have a FREE solution to this problem that you can do 100% from home.
