Watching Your Courses on a TV

General Casting and Screen Mirroring Guide

Because there are many TV brands, phones, computers, and software versions, casting can work a little differently for everyone. We do not block casting, but the method that works best depends on your device setup.

Below are the most reliable options by device type.

Apple Devices to TV

iPhone or iPad to Apple TV or Smart TV
The most reliable option is Screen Mirroring.

Steps:

  1. Make sure your iPhone or iPad and your TV are on the same Wi-Fi network

  2. Open Control Center on your device

  3. Tap Screen Mirroring

  4. Select your Apple TV or compatible Smart TV

This mirrors your entire screen and works well for following dance lessons.

MacBook to TV
You can use either:

  • AirPlay from the menu bar

  • An HDMI cable from your laptop to your TV

Many students find HDMI to be the most stable option.

Android Devices to TV

Android phone or tablet to Smart TV
Most Android devices use Screen Cast or Smart View.

Steps:

  1. Make sure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network

  2. Open your phone’s settings

  3. Look for Screen Cast, Smart View, or Cast Screen

  4. Select your TV

Android or Windows laptop to TV
Using an HDMI cable is usually the most consistent option.

Using a Web Browser

If you are using a laptop:

  • Open your course in a web browser

  • Use AirPlay, screen mirroring, or HDMI to connect to your TV

Browsers often handle video playback more reliably than built in TV browsers.

If Casting Does Not Work Right Away

If you experience a black screen, no video, or connection issues, try the following:

  • Restart both your device and your TV

  • Make sure both are fully updated

  • Confirm both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network

If the video plays correctly on your phone or computer but not on the TV, the issue is usually related to the TV or casting method rather than the course itself.

Important Notes

  • Casting support depends on your device, TV brand, and software version

  • We cannot control how individual TVs or casting tools behave

  • Screen mirroring or HDMI tends to work more consistently than in-player casting

Need device specific help
